INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT GRANTS TO SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY: HA’AMORI

“My Ministry is preparing all the necessary arrangements to disburse an additional 14-million to assist Primary and Junior secondary schools with their infrastructure development programs. This is additional funding made available by our development partners namely New Zealand and the Australian Governments. I think we need to acknowledge that those are additional funds. They’ve helped us so that we can achieve what we tried setting out to achieve, which is why we introduced the Fee Free Basic Education.”

Mr Ha’amori added, his Ministry provides approximately 100-million dollars worth of school grants to schools in the country annually.

“The National Government also provides schools grants annually. The annual budget for Primary Schools grant is 20-million dollars and 45-million dollars for Secondary School grants. With budget support excluding the 14-million dollars that I just mentioned from our key development partners Australia and New Zealand, my Ministry provides approximately 100-million dollar school grants.”
