Solomon Islands through the Ministry of National Unity, Reconciliation and Peace commemorates International Peace Day.
The declared International Day of Peace is 21st September but Solomon Islands has decided to remember the event yesterday.
The theme for this year’s Peace Day is “The Sustainable Development Goals:Building Blocks for Peace”.
Minister for National Unity, Reconciliation and Peace Samson Maneka said, the National Government is committed in ensuring peace for economic development in Solomon Islands.
“The Democratic Coalition for Change Government policies also embarks on the same pursuit. The national reconciliation efforts that pursuits towards enabling a good environment for economic growth and the post-conflict rehabilitation undertaken to play a significant role towards achieving the broader end.”
