The Japanese Embassy has signed onto a 4-hundred thousand dollar grant aid contract with Guadalcanal school – the Wanderer Bay Community High School.
The grant is to build two dormitories for the school.
Speaking at the signing this morning, Japan’s Charge de Affairs Odai Tomohiro said supporting school projects in Solomon Islands is one of the priorities of Japan grass root and human security projects.
Mr. Tomohiro says this is important as it improve learning environment for all children in the country.
“This school project represents one of the priority areas of Japan’s Grass roots and Humanity Security project to improve learning environment for children in Solomon Islands”.
Mr. Tomohiro adds Japan will continue to assist education and human resource development in Solomon Islands.
“Japan will continue its efforts in assisting education and human resources development as one of major targets in its aid policy towards Solomon Islands”.
The grant aid contract was signed by Mr Tomohiro and Chairman of Wanderer Bay Community High School Board Chairman, Tahihana Nelson.
