Kilu’ufi Hospital Health Authority has dispatched an awareness team targeting densely populated areas in Malaita Province suspected of contracting the current Dengue virus.
This is crucial as the search for the virus type continues.
The team is mandated to educate the people about possible measures to halt the spread of the disease.
Infection Control and surveillance Officer Mr Nickson Olofisiau confirms to SIBC News.
“While waiting for results we are not sitting down and hoping that the dengue will subside and the program continues to activate all its operational strategies, meaning that the outbreak team has dispatched a health promotion team to visit schools, communities and of course churches to raise awareness about prevention measures.”
