The Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Survey will host a first-ever one-day information session for all Honiara city residents next week.
The session aims to provide residents an opportunity to shape the future of Honiara as a capital city of Solomon Islands.
The information session brings a number of expert speakers on a wide range of areas including informal settlements, Customary Lands, Physical Planning and Building application processes and Land allocation.
Permanent Secretary Stanley Wale has encouraged the public to attend the event.
Mr Wale says the information session provides a unique opportunity for the public to learn about land issues within Honiara City, and to talk with officials on issues regarding the Ministry of Lands.
Special sessions will also be hosted for students at DepartmentalStalls which will cover areas involving Surveying, Valuation, Housing and Rentals, Titles and Land Registration, the Honiara Environment andRoad systems.
The program will be opened by the Minister of Lands, Housing andSurvey Andrew Manepora’a and Honiara City Lord Mayor Alfrence Fatai at the National Art Gallery on Monday at 9am.
