Four lawyers from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the Public Solicitor’s Office will participate in a professional skills development program in Darwin, Australia.
The program is funded by the Australian Government.
The Australian High Commission in Honiara confirms the local lawyers will spend four weeks in Darwin working alongside Australian counterparts.
Australian High Commissioner Andrew Byrne met with the group this week ahead of their departure to congratulate them after their selection.
He encourages them to make the most of this opportunity to experience a new and different legal environment in the Northern Territory.
Mr. Byrne says mentoring is a two-way process and encourage them to share their experiences, both personal and professional, with their colleagues in Darwin.
The lawyers were selected by their office management for their prominent contributions to their offices.
Meanwhile, Director of Public Prosecutions Ronald Bei Talasasa and Public Solicitor Douglas Hou have supported the participation of their staff in the mentoring program.
