The Leader of the Official Opposition, Hon. Manasseh Damukana Sogavare received a courtesy call from a delegation of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), led by Mr. ZHAO Hongtao, Deputy Director General, Bureau for North American, Oceanian and Nordic Affairs, International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC).
The meeting provided an opportunity for the Parliamentary Opposition and IDCPC to exchange views on a range of issues of common interest, including global and regional developments, the Global Civilization Initiative, Sovereign Equality, Foreign policy, the importance of dialogue and cooperation in promoting peace, development, and mutual understanding among others.
Discussions also covered the growing bilateral relations between Solomon Islands and the People’s Republic of China, including the implementation of existing bilateral agreements and cooperation in areas that contribute to Solomon Islands’ national development.
