Lusibaea fined for official misconduct

The Leadership Code Commission also found Mr. Lusibaea had entered into a contract agreement with the Solomon Islands Ports Authority for him to provide side lift services to SIPA on a profit sharing basis using a machine the Lion Heart Company sold to the State owned Enterprise.

This was in breach of section 94 of the constitution.

Furthermore, the MP misled LCC when he falsely declared that he had no shares in any company.

LCC in a statement said, all three counts were serious, warranting a fine of 4- Thousand dollars each.

Mr. Lusibaea has been ordered to pay the sum of 12- Thousand dollars fine to the government treasury within 14 working days from Monday this week.

The Commission said, The North Malaita MP has the right to appeal to the High Court within 28 days if he has grounds.
