M.M.F WANTS HOU REMOVED AS P.A.C CHAIR

Pressure group, the Malaita Ma’asina Forum (MMF) has called on the Speaker of the National Parliament to remove the MP for Small Malaita from his position as Chair of the parliamentary Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Making the call in a media conference yesterday, MMF President Charles Dausabea said Mr. Hou should be removed because he has charges against him.

The Leadership Code Commission (LCC) has charged Mr Hou and his former Permanent Secretary of Finance Shadrach for political misconduct.

The two have since requested deference of their charges, a request refused by the LCC.

But Mr Dausabea told members of the local media yesterday that Mr Hou should be removed as Chair of the PAC.

“We would like Mr Rick Hou to be removed as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee because he has already been charged with misconduct in office which has several other charges added, so we would like the Speaker of Parliament to remove Mr Hou and replace him with any other members because we now starting the transparency.”

The Pressure group urged the government not to consider Shadrach Fanega for any Permanent Secretary posts in the near future as he was also charged by the LCC.
