Acting Prime Minister Manasseh Maelanga has called on the landowners in Makira Ulawa Province to allow their land for development programs which the Provincial and National Governments want to achieve.
Mr Maelanga made the statement during the province’s 31st anniversary Monday this week.
Director of the Government Communication Unit, George Hemming reported from Kirakira, Mr Maelanga stressed this message at the Anniversary celebrations.
“Mr Maelanga called on the resource owners especially landowners of the province to allocate or allow their land for the development programs expected to be achieved by both the Provincial and National Governments, especially in terms of infrastructure and social services like health and education and other necessary services needed by the province to develop.”
Mr Hemming also reported, the Acting Prime Minister also thank landowners who have given their land for major developments in the province.
“He also thanked the people of Makira Ulawa Province, especially for those who have allowed their land to cater for the establishment of some major development projects in the province in terms of education, like the Waimapuru National Secondary School, St Stephen’s Pamua and also Paoa Secondary School on Ugi island.”
