The Tongs Corporation Isuzu-sponsored Malaita Subi rugby team has started competing in the Inter Island Rugby Championship yesterday at the Panatina rugby field.
Twenty players from Auki arrived this week and are camping at the Town Ground Stadium in Honiara.
The players have joined other Honiara-based Malaitan rugby players to compete in the championship.
The team has been training since their arrival and are ready to take on the Island teams.
Backed with a few national reps the team wants to better last year’s result where they came third after losing in the semi-finals.
Rugby fans are asked to watch and support the team during their games.
