Police have arrested one person in relation to the alleged Windy Ridge arson incident near the Tenaru Nazareth Apostolic Centre.
Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast says an investigation into the incident continues.
Commissioner Prendergast says it is good to see Chiefs stepping up to solve the disagreement between parties involved in the alleged arson.
The Police boss makes the announcement today.
“We’ve arrested one person in relation to that issue but there’s a very active investigation still undergoing as to others still involved in that issue. I am very pleased to see the chiefs and elders from both parties in that dispute involved in settling the matter at the Henderson Police Station on Monday and as always we are grateful for their support that we get from the community in those issues.”
