A man will stand trial at the High Court for attempting to commit murder last year at the Kingsley Food bar in Honiara.
Frank Fakani was committed to stand trial at the High Court this morning following a pre-trial conference.
Chief Magistrate Emmanuel Kouhota concluded there is sufficient evidence against him to stand trial at the High Court.
Fakani will stand trial along with his co-accused Ben Alami who was committed earlier.
They are both charged with attempted murder.
It is alleged they attacked a man from Rennell Bellona Province on the morning of 8th November last year at the Kingsley Fast Food bar.
Alami allegedly came up from behind and hacked the Rennell Bellona man with a 60cm long knife.
The men then left in a car allegedly driven by Fakani.
