The main Matanikau Bridge will be closed at 7pm tonight.
A statement from the Ministry of Infrastructure Development yesterday said this is to allow for repair works on damages caused by last month’s floods.
The Ministry said the “Upstream Ramp” will be removed tonight during the repair process.
Deputy Director of the Transport Sector Development Unit, Jabin Laedola said the downstream ramp will remain open for limited passage only for police, medical and other emergency stakeholders.
The temporary closure will remain until Sunday depending on the completion of the repair works.
