Journalists and media workers from eight countries, including Solomon Islands are taking part in a workshop organised by the Forum Fisheries Agency to raise awareness on the economics of tuna management and development.
The workshop is being staged in Noumea, New Caledonia, ahead of the Pacific Islands News Association Summit.
In opening the workshop, a statement from FFA Director-General James Movick read in his absence said, he was delighted that the Tunanomics workshop would improve media knowledge of some underlying factors affecting tuna fishery in the region today.
