Prime Minister Gordon Darcy says minimal dewatering has been done at the tailings dam in Gold Ridge Mine site.
The Prime Minister made the statement in Parliament last week responding to a question raised by the leader of opposition Doctor Derek Sikua on the current situation of the tailing dam.
“There has been some minimal dewatering done. There are also some evaporation which leads to the lowering of the water level, but as the Opposition Leader has correctly points out, if our rainfall situation continues, you know it might reach that level again.”
