“I wish to highlight that it is impressive to see that the cooperation and partnership with our new partner is thriving in the spirit of genuine respect and honour. In this respect, I wish to highlight again that the Solomon Islands Government has respect for all its partners, and it is our intention to work closely with all partners with the core objectives of true partnership and cooperation, for the sole benefit of preserving unity, security and peace in our nation,” Minister Veke said.
In a time that Covid-19 has accelerated it impacts on the society, it is fitting that the government reach out to its partners for support, especially, in efforts to maintain security.
“Covid-19 is not only a health issue, but a security issue, as such we all need to work together as a global family, to address and support our police force in their duties,” Veke added.
With the changing dynamics of security issues, the RSIPF must be ready to address matters professionally and in a safe and timely manner since their duty is not only to maintain law and order but to protect the lives of people in this country.
In order to do that, they need to be prepared and well equipped to deliver. It is always important to be prepared for the worst scenarios, as this will help in delivering an effective plan when the situation is called for.
“Let us continue to work together to combat this pandemic, and also maintain peace, security, law and order in our country, as well as, further improve the capabilities and capacities of the RSIPF,” Veke said.
