The country’s second international airport, the Munda airport in New Georgia, Western Province, is nearing completion.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Communication and Aviation Moses Virivolomo said his ministry is making progress in its work to meet all requirements prior to the project deadline.
“The fencing is finished; runway lights and lighting are almost finished,” Mr Virivolomo said. “Fire trucks will arrive by the end of April, and the airport should be tentatively completed by June.”
