The National Emergency Operation Center (NEOC) has issued a Heavy Rain and Flooding ‘What To Do’ Information today.
This follows the Heavy Rain Alert one issued by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service at 6 am this morning.
The alert is currently enforced for Choiseul, Western, Isabel, Malaita, Central, Guadalcanal, Makira and Rennell and Bellona Provinces.
Meanwhile, NEOC Warns people living in affected areas to always listen to radio for emergency information.
Village leaders and family members are urged to always check the safety of their neighbours and vulnerable people in their communities.
Motorists are also advised to take extreme caution when travelling in wet, slippery and flooded areas.
