New contracts for road drainage maintenance and street cleaning on Honiara highway

Ropiko Enterprise recently acquired street sweeper truck, equipped with brush and vacuum systems

The Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID) has announced the awarding of two vital contracts aimed at enhancing road drainage maintenance and street cleaning/desilting for parts of the Honiara Highway.

The drainage maintenance contract has been strategically divided into two lots to ensure comprehensive coverage of the main highway:

Lot 1: Awarded to Niter Civil Construction, this contract focuses on maintaining the drainage systems along the main road segment from Henderson Court to the Ranadi Roundabout.

Lot 2: Managed by SINBAD Construction, this project will oversee the drainage maintenance from the Ranadi Roundabout to the Honiara City Council.

In addition, MID is pleased to award a contract for street cleaning and desilting to Ropiko Enterprises Construction. Ropiko is introducing advanced road cleaning technology with the acquisition of a state-of-the-art street sweeper truck, equipped with brush and vacuum systems. 

This innovative approach will ensure effective removal of dirt and debris, promoting a cleaner and safer roadway for Honiara road users.

MID will continue to provide supervision roles with these contractors throughout the year to address ongoing drainage and cleaning activities along the main Honiara highways.
