The Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) and the Australian Government initiative, Strongim Bisnis launched new Solomon Islands tourism trails—itineraries which connect tourist sites together—on 24 September 2019.
The trails identify key tourist sites such as natural attractions, WWII sites and walks. The sites are connected in a trail, then combined with accommodation options to increase tourist visits to, and between, sites. Permanent Secretary (PS) for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Andrew Nihopara, launched the report on the tourism trails with Australian High Commission Counsellor Economics, Andrew Schloeffel.
PS Nihopara said “My ministry will continue to progress our initiatives on tourism. The trails highlight tourism product development critical for the growth of the sector as part of the tourism growth strategy and policy.”
