The Solomon Islands Electoral Commission maintains candidate nomination period will not be extended.
It says this is executed in accordance with the Electoral Act 2018 Section 59 (1) (b).
So intending candidates must file their nominations before 4pm Wednesday 20th February.
Meanwhile, the commission is yet to finalise if nomination centres will open in Honiara for intending candidates who cannot make it back due to the bad weather, and for which constituencies.
But the weather has now permitted the exercise to roll smoothly.
A number of nominations have been received and facilitated in recent days.
