OPPOSITION NOT SURPRISED BY DECLINING SUPPORT FOR D.C.C GOV’T

The Parliamentary Opposition group has said it is not surprised by the declining support for the Prime Minister and his DCC Government as indicated by an online popularity poll.

The online Prime Minister’s popularity poll was undertaken by the Forum Solomon Islands International (FSII) following decisions and actions taken by the Prime Minister and his DCC Government over the past six months.

The poll indicates that support for the Prime Minister and his DCC Government has declined dramatically.

The Parliamentary Opposition said the declining support of 60 percent for the Government’s popularity and public support to tumble in just six months, must be seriously considered by the Prime Minister.

It said this indicates a worrying signal; that people no longer have the trust and level of confidence in the DCC Government in fulfilling its development promises.

The Opposition group said the undeniable declining support is because since coming into power, the Prime Minister and his Government have been making decisions which are highly questionable, dubious and are not in the best interest of Solomon Islanders.
