Regional athletes from Fiji and PNG will be in Honiara this week ahead of the Pacific Triathlon Championship scheduled for third and fourth of September.
The five weeks of extra training due to the postponement has paid off, with Solomon Islands athletes in peak form, ready for the competition.
Solomon Islands triathlon coach Nathan Thomson Siofa said it is the first time for the Solomon Islands to host such a big triathlon event.
One of the top local triathlons Boris Teddy said preparations are going well for the competition.
