Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare and an entourage of officials have left for the Republic of Fiji Islands to attend the Pacific Islands Forum Special Leaders’ Retreat.
Besides the PIF special leaders’ meeting, PM Sogavare will also attend side meetings.
It is expected that a number of issues will be discussed during the leaders meeting; top amongst them is the implementation of the 2050 Blue Pacific Strategy. Leaders are also expected to discuss Japan’s interest to dump radioactive wastes in the Pacific Ocean.
