“Fisheries resources and sustainable development would continue to occupy the centre stage in important policy discussions of many if not all member countries of the Pacific Islands Forum Nations especially the Small Islands Developing States and the reason is simple because of its immense contribution to this economy in terms of revenue generation, foreign reserve earnings economic growth and the list goes on.”
SIBC news understands the two-day briefings will be held at the FFA Conference Centre in Honiara.
Meanwhile, the PNA Technical Working Group Workshop has convened in Munda, Western Province this week.

“The Parties to the Nauru Agreement technical workshop was convened yesterday here at the Agness Lodge, Lambete station in Munda and it is a three days workshop focusing mainly on operating and implementing the Longline Vessel Day Scheme.”
She outlines the workshop priorities.
“High on the agenda are discussions on the PNA’s plans to implement this scheme in 2017. The workshop brought together the technical working group to meet and discuss the Longline Vessel Day Scheme. The discussions were seen as very important in terms of the scheme.”
