Police are investigating a death incident where a male body was found at the Lungga river early this morning.
According to the Police Media Unit, the deceased is in his early 20’s and is from the Central Islands.
Locals who discovered the body early this morning alerted the Police.
The police after attending the deceased, transported the body to the National Referral Hospital morgue for further medical examination, which will assist police investigations into the nature and cause of the death.
Police are treating the matter as a foul play- calling on anyone who may have witnessed or have information relating to the incident since Sunday or Monday morning to come forward.
Police investigation results will be relayed after a medical post mortem on a later date.
Members of the public are urged to allow police carry out their investigation freely and seek support from communities and the people.
