The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is gearing up for the upcoming Parliament meeting next month.
Parliament will start its fifth sitting for this year on 1st November.
Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast told his media conference this week the RSIPF is preparing for its normal operations for the Parliament sitting.
“I just like to advice that we are preparing for our normal operations Parliament sitting, Parliament’s due to sit in November, we’ll be providing appropriate security to Parliament so that it can
sit and do its business without being interfered with. Once again we ask the community to work with us on this issue.”
Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner adds Police are also launching their weekend operations starting today.
“You’ll see as the Acting Deputy has pointed out that we have started running operations again this weekend around traffic and anti-social behaviour, alcohol to assist and ensuring that there’s a safe environment, but we ask that the community to continue to work with us. We’ve been very grateful for the support we’ve received but it’s something we need to go on with.”
