Prime Minister Manele commends RSIPF for successful security operation during the 54th Pacific Islands Forum

Prime Minister Hon. Jeremiah Manele MP  lauded the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF), the Correctional Service of Solomon Islands (CSSI), and security partners for their exemplary efforts in securing a safe and peaceful environment during the 54th Pacific Islands Forum, which took place from September 8 to 12, 2025.

In a ceremony at the Rove Police Club yesterday, Prime Minister Manele highlighted the unwavering dedication, professionalism, and discipline exhibited by the RSIPF throughout a complex, high-tempo, intelligence-driven, and community-centered security operation spanning multiple locations, including Honiara and Noro in the Western Province leading up to, during and post Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting.

“More than 1,100 officers from Rove Police Headquarters, Honiara City, Guadalcanal, Western, and Choiseul Provinces, along with the Emergency Response Group of the Correctional Service, demonstrated the strength and unity of a disciplined force. Your tireless commitment was fundamental to the success of this mission,” the Prime Minister remarked.

He emphasized that this operation reaffirmed a vital truth: a highly capable, disciplined, professional, and united police force is crucial to safeguarding the national security, stability, and development of the Solomon Islands. Equally important is the continued presence of police officers in communities and their genuine engagement with the people they serve.

Prime Minister Manele reiterated the Government’s firm commitment to enhancing the capacity and capabilities of the police force to confidently meet current and future challenges with professionalism and resilience.

He also acknowledged the Honourable Minister for Police, National Security and Correctional Services, along with the Ministry’s leadership team, for their steadfast guidance and visionary policy direction.

Further extending his gratitude, Prime Minister Manele thanked the Government’s security partners, including the Australian Federal Police through the RSIPF-AFP Policing Partnership Program, the New Zealand Police under the Solomon Islands Police Support Program, the China Police Liaison Team, and other bilateral and regional collaborators.

“Your invaluable support, whether through advisory roles, provision of resources and logistics, or capacity-building initiatives has significantly strengthened the operational readiness of the RSIPF. On behalf of the Government and people of the Solomon Islands, I express my sincere appreciation for your enduring partnership,” he stated.

Prime Minister Manele urged all RSIPF and CSSI officers to continue “serve with honour, act with courage, and remain unwavering as defenders of the law and champions of peace, security, and unity. Your role transcends law enforcement—it is about inspiring public confidence in justice, protecting our sovereignty, and ensuring that all Solomon Islanders live free, safe, and in harmony.”
