Prime Minister Manele congratulates Australian Prime Minister Albanese on successful re-election

The Prime Minister of the Solomon Islands, Hon. Jeremiah Manele MP, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Prime Minister of Australia, Hon. Anthony Albanese, on his successful re-election.

In an official message sent to Canberra today, Prime Minister Manele conveyed his sincere congratulations to Prime Minister Albanese for his resounding and landslide victory in Saturday’s federal election to become Australia’s 32nd Prime Minister.  

“Your election victory at a time when our world is facing many challenges clearly demonstrates that the people of Australia have embraced your vision and have put their trust in you as their preferred leader to address your country’s national priorities, while also leading Australia’s engagement in the rapidly evolving global and regional political and economic environment.”

Prime Minister Manele reaffirms, Australia remains Solomon Islands steadfast friend and has been our development partner of choice for decades. 

Solomon Islands acknowledge with gratitude Australia’s assistance to Solomon Islands over the years, in particular during the country’s moments of need as demonstrated through Australia’s engagements in RAMSI, the Solomon International Assistance Mission, the historic joint national, provincial, and Honiara City Council elections in 2024, and during the COVID 19 Pandemic. 

Prime Minister Manele expresses confidence in Prime Minister Albanese and his administration as they lead Australia with fresh mandate from the people of Australia. 

“The Australian electorate has given you the mandate to govern without the need for a coalition reflects their trust in you and your party’s leadership to guide Australia’s national and international engagements at this time of rapidly evolving global events.”

Prime Minister Manele commits to working closely with his Australian counterpart to further elevate the Solomon Islands-Australia partnership.
