Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare has opened an anti-corruption workshop in Honiara as part of the country’s review on the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).
The three-day workshop highlights the national progress under the UNCAC Review Mechanism and consider how these findings will be incorporated into national anti-corruption efforts.
Workshop participants will be informed of anti-corruption progress that has been undertaken by Solomon Islands in light of the DCC Government’s draft anti-corruption policy and consider the mechanisms by which the government an anti-corruption strategy and establish the Solomon Islands Independent Commission Against Corruption (SIICAC).
