Prime Minister Manasseh Damukana Sogavare has acknowledged the concerns raised by the Solomon Islands National Teachers Association (SINTA) over the longstanding grievances of its members and urged the SINTA Executive to make a formal appointment with his government for a dialogue.
The Solomon Star reported that SINTA in its Annual General Meeting resolved to give the Democratic Coalition for Change Government until June 2015 to address the grievances of its members.
But in a government statement Mr Sogavare said SINTA can be assured of the government’s commitment to addressing its members’ grievances and urged them to make a formal appointment for discussions.
