But responding to Mr. Veke’s claims, RDP Program Manager Loti Vaisekavea told SIBC News yesterday Guadalcanal and Central Islands provinces were the last two to join the program’s first phase.
“Guadalcanal and Central provinces were the last two provinces to join the RDP in its phase one and so because they were the last two to join in, the concepts, practices and approaches were quite new to the communities and as natural we also expect that for other communities in other provinces who first joined RDP.”
Meanwhile, the RDP Program Manager assured Guadalcanal communities that the program is behind them to elevate them.
“RDP fully stands behind them to support and facilitate and ensure that what priorities they have selected will be fully realised and we look forward to the time where we will celebrate it together with the good people and leaders of Guadalcanal. So I think the important point here is we have to activate our partnership with the communities, ensuring that it is fully activated so that we can complete one aspect of this project so that our communities concern can continue to graduate to a new level.”
