The Ranadi dump site area in East Honiara now has an office building – thanks to Japan’s Grassroots and Human Security Projects Scheme.
The single story building, officially handed over today, is located at the front of the landfill area and will serve as the administration and training centre for the Council’s waste management project.
In his keynote address this morning, Japan’s Charge de Affairs in Solomon Islands, Tomohiro Odai said the facility will strongly enhance the capacity of landfill staff to undertake current and future work operations in a safer and more efficient way.
