Relief and early recovery work is underway across the country after Tropical Cyclone Raquel had hit parts of Solomon Islands a few months ago.
A statement from the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) said the Provincial Disaster Management Offices (PDMOs) have recently completed assessment reports highlighting damage.
The assessment report indicates food gardens have been damaged and leaving some communities at considerable health risk.
The NDMO has also confirmed 33 MPs have received $100,000 each while 10 Constituencies are yet to receive their support with the same amount.
NDMO advised MPs to contact their Provincial Disaster Office for support and provide details on where urgent needs have been
identified.
It said communities in the affected constituencies can also seek help from their MPs.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Council (NDC) said the current dry season will make things worse.
The most important area of support across all affected provinces is the secondary impacts on public health and education.
NDC said there has already been an increase of water-related illnesses, including diarrhea in the affected parts of the country.
Many damaged water sources are not yet repaired, and now the dry season is also drying up safe water and forcing many villagers to use unhealthy water sources.
