The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) strongly appeals to all liquor license holders throughout the country to observe the liquor ban which will be enforced during the joint election period from 16 to 26 April.
Ahead of the polling day on 17 April the caretaker Minister of Home Affairs Christopher Laore declared the liquor ban under section 82(1) of the Liquor Act (Cap. 144) which has been gazetted already.
The order provided that all licensed premises and all bars including night clubs and bottle shops in Solomon Islands to be closed; and no liquor is to be sold on such premises, bars including night clubs and bottle shops, except licensed premises or bars licensed to sell liquor that are located within a hotel or restaurant may sell liquor to a bona fide guest.
