RSIPF NUMBERS INCREASING

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary for the Ministry Police, National Security and Correctional Services Edmund Sikua said, having new officers into the force is an achievement for the RSIPF.

He urged them to be professional in providing services to the people they serve.

“It is another achievement for the RSIPF and my hope is that these young men and women will serve our community properly as the community will learn, trust and depend on them but they have to win the trust and confidence and they have to build the kind of relationship that is professional as well as aimed at providing service to our people.”

Meanwhile, a large number of subordinate officers have been promoted within the ranks of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force.

Deputy Police Commissioner Administration Juanita Matanga confirms 78 officers from around the country were promoted this week.

“We have 48 Constables and Sergeants promoted to Senior Sergeants and Constables promoted to Sergeants so a total of 78 officers.”

Deputy Commissioner Matanga says the promotion was a prolonged RSIPF business finally fulfilled.
