The Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) will be working hard to implement the Family Protection Act, say Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast.
Commissioner Prendergast made the assurance during his most recent weekly media conference.
“We’ll be working hard to make sure that we do our part. We’re confident that the legislation is good legislation and we need to ensure that where our systems and our officers understand the system and are delivering it the way it needs to. I’m very confident in the medium-term that it will make a big difference. In the short-term it will make a difference, but we’re expecting some issues so we need to identify what those issues are and deal with them, that’s certainly from a Police perspective, it’s a very high priority.”
