Meanwhile, Ministry of Finance and Treasury Under Secretary, Mckinnie Dentana confirmed, the Government is committed to the country’s health sector.

Mr Dentana says, the government has generated economic activity in the health sector amounting to 15 to 20 percent of the GDP saying this shows the importance of the SIG’s support for the Demographic and Health Survey project.

The National Statistic Office through the Ministry of Finance and Treasury has entered into a formal agreement with the Government of Australia under an Accountable Cash Grant to the value of AUD$2.71 million for the execution of the survey under the Solomon Islands – Australia partnership for Development efforts.

SINSO appreciates additional financial audit support from the Solomon Islands Government and the United Nations through UNICEF to assist implement the survey next month.
