Investigations into the case of a missing crew member of the tug boat which sunk off Bungana islands in Central Province last Thursday are ongoing.
Seven crew members were on board the tug boat when it sank. Six swum to safety on Bungana island while one, an Asian crew member, is still missing.
The tug boat, pulling a barge was travelling from Honiara to Malaita when it sank after the rope tied to the tug boat broke, resulting in the tug boat taking in water and submerged.
Divers of the RSIPF Explosive Ordnance Device Team from Honiara have been at the site of the sunken tug boat near Bungana island since last Friday to assist in searching for the missing crew member.
A Police statement said RSIPF continues to liaise with the tug boat owners as search for the missing crew member continues.
It said, arrangements are underway to bring in other professional divers to assist in the search.
The crew of the tug boat, who survived the ordeal, are assisting the investigations.
