The second suspect arrested for the double homicide during the Easter period in Honiara appeared in Court this afternoon.
Raymond Keota was charged with two counts of murder or homicide and was remanded in custody. Keota’s court appearance was brief, with prosecutors giving no further detail of the circumstances surrounding his charges.
He will appear again in Court with his co-accused Jimson Goufi on the 30th of this month.
Police arrested the suspect following an early Sunday morning operation in Fourere village, North Malaita
Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Ian Vavaso told local reporters this week the suspect was expected to be transferred to Honiara yesterday.
However, unconfirmed reports from Auki Police said the suspect was only transferred to Honiara this morning.
