Premier of Makira Ulawa province Stanley Siapu
Stanley Siapu is the new Premier Elect for Makira Ulawa Province.
This was confirmed by the Makira/Ulawa Provincial Assembly Clerk Clement Rohorua.
Siapu who is the Member of Provincial Assembly for Santa Ana ward, was declared winner with 14 votes, securing an absolute majority after one round of voting this morning.
His runner-up and the only competitor Donald Tahani received 6 votes.
The election was held this morning after nominations were closed last night.
Mr Rohorua said new executive members will be appointed and sworn in next Monday.
