The Solomon Islands Front for Rehabilitation, Reconciliation and Reintegration of Former Combatants, SIRRRFC, an independent coalition of former combatants condemn Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo’s selective reconciliation scheme and call on him to act on the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report.

The SIRRRFC spokesperson, Mr Hardy Kona was referring to the recent media outburst  by Rollen Seleso demanding public apology from the Interim Chairman of  the Joint Civil Society Group and Concerned Citizens group, JCSG and CC Mr Barnabas Henson.

Mr Kona submits, it has been twelve long years of struggle for former combatants since the government assumed responsibility over their rehabilitation.

He questioned how the Prime Minister sees it fit to pursue his insensitive politically driven reconciliation scheme defies good reason because it effectively discounts the rest.

Mr Kona says reconciliation must be fair and inclusive otherwise it would only be disadvantageous and discriminatory.

Headds the Former Malaita Eagle Force were partly blamed for the incident on the Weathercoast and truly would like to reconcile with their brothers.

SIBC news understands, the solovisu ceremony on the weathercoast last week is just the recalling of the weathercoast people to return to their villages so they can be approached to talk about a major reconciliation at a later date.

Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo had also made it clear during the solovisu ceremony at Peochakuri last week, this is one of the many reconciliation ceremonies to be conducted throughout the country.
