Solomon Airlines and the Solomon Islands Visitors Bureau have announced a new memorandum of understanding to advertise and promote the Solomon Islands overseas.

The announcement was made by the Solomon Islands business community during a networking event organised by the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce last month.

A press statement states both parties intend to aggressively market tourism in the Solomon Islands overseas and the partnership to allow airline and the Visitors Bureau to maximise their visibility overseas while keeping costs to a minimum.

The event featured keynote addresses from Solomon Airlines head Ron Sumsum and the new CEO of the Solomon Islands Visitor Bureau, Josefa Tuamoto.

The agreement also makes way to approve travel shows beyond Solomon Islands without the huge burden of high fares.

The agreement also allows more travel writers and travel agents to visit the country to experience Solomon Islands products and services.
