SOLOMON AIRLINES CRITICIZED FOR TRANSFER SERVICE

A frequent Solomon Airlines customer from Shortland Island has criticized the Airline of transferring his confirmed booking without his consent, which resulted in the Airlines customer paying an extra 9-hundred dollars to correct the situation and be included in the flight list.

Wayne Alisae of Tomoa Village said he had confirmed bookings with the Airlines to travel between Honiara, Gizo and Balalae earlier this month and had the e-tickets to prove his confirmed bookings.

But in Gizo, the Solomon Airlines agent advised Mr Alisae to pay an extra 9-hundred and 97 dollars if he wanted to board the flight to Balaelae.

SIBC’s stringer in Shortland, John Kotaru reports.

“Only two hours before the departure of a Balalae fight on 16th May, 2014 the Solomon Airlines agent in Gizo has advised him to pay an extra sum of 9-hundred and 97 dollars if he wants to travel via the flight. Mr Alisae then produced his traveling documents to prove that his travelling arrangements have been confirmed, but they ignored them, saying he has to pay the extra amount to be on the Gizo Balalae flight.”

The SIBC Stringer also reports the Solomon Airlines agent in Gizo explained to Mr Alisae that the Airlines had transferred his booking, but Mr Alisae said the booking was transferred without his consent.

“Upon asking why the agent has decided to ignore his confirmed Gizo Balalae ticket, Mr Alisae was told by the agent that his booking was transferred. Mr Alisae then blamed the Airlines for not providing him a clear explanation of the transfer, adding this is without his consent.”
