Bogus recruitment agents are again taking money from Solomon Islanders who want to pick fruits in Australia and New Zealand, and the Labour Mobility Unit has issued another call for the public to watch out for fake recruitment schemes.
The Unit facilitates seasonal workers schemes in New Zealand and Australia and were alerted of unlicensed agents requesting money from people, and falsely promising to send them to New Zealand and Australia.
Under current terms of seasonal work schemes, agents are not permitted to charge any fees to applicants.
