SOLOMON ISLANDS HAS LOST A MAN OF PRINCIPLE: DR SIKUA

He says the late Hatimoana immediately became a very active Member of Parliament soon after his election – actively involved in debates on bills and other motions brought before Parliament.

Mr Sikua says, the late Ngella MP has also been very active in Parliamentary Standing Committees such as the Bills and Legislation Committee and the Education and Human Resources Committee.

In his short time in Parliament, the late Hatimoana had planted the seed for the social and economical way forward for his constituency.

He had a very clear vision, plan and work programme to develop his constituency for the long-term benefit of its people.

On the Late Hatimoana’s contribution to the education sector, Hon Dr Sikua says he and the Late Hatimoana worked together on the Teaching Service Handbook and concluded the agreements on the new Scheme of Service for Teachers as well as the Teachers’ Unified Structure and Long Service Benefit.

Mr Sikua made the tribute during obituary speech time in Parliament this week for the Late Hatimoana.
