Solomon Islands is now in ‘dengue season’ and the World Health Organisation Office in the country has begun warning the general public to take action in efforts to minimize the risk of getting dengue fever.
WHO Solomon Islands representative Dr Audrey Auma says the recent rainy season will breed more dengue mosquito’s and Solomon Islands now enters ‘dengue season’.
WHO Entomologist, Matthew Shortus says the public must destroy all breeding sites of the dengue mosquito in their surroundings to protect themselves from mosquito bites.
