Natural Resources Development Foundation (NRDF) in Solomon Islands has been selected as a recipient of the US Agency for International Development, USAID, Pacific-American Climate Fund (PACF) program.
This is part of US-AID’s recent announcement- its first tranche of civil society organization chosen as grantees under the Pacific-American Climate Fund.
Solomon Islands is among nine civil society organizations, CSOs, in the region selected.
Other include the Aquaculture Technologies in Marshall Islands; College of Micronesia; CARE International in Papua New Guinea; Conservation International in Papua New Guinea and the Marine and Environmental Research Institute of Pohnpei in the Federated States of Micronesia.
The Matuaileoo Environment Trust, in Samoa; Namdrik Atoll Development Association in Marshall Islands and the University of Fiji are other recipients.
The Pacific-American Climate Fund grants will support projects that assist communities in the Pacific region to adapt to the impacts of climate change, in collaboration with partners from the NGO community, academia, and the private sector.
Total funding for projects in the first group is approximately US$5.4 million.
