The Solomon Islands community in Port Moresby is organising two major fundraising drives towards the ongoing recovery efforts in Solomon Islands following last month’s flash flooding which killed at least 22 people and damaged property.
The first of the fundraising drive is a corporate dinner at the Crown Plaza Hotel on Thursday 8 May and the second fundraising event is a music concert at the Gold Club at Lamana Hotel on Saturday 10 May.
Solomon Islands High Commissioner to Papua New Guinea, H.E. William Nii Haomae will speak at the corporate dinner while Solomon Islands students will perform traditional Solomon Islands dances with support from PNG’s famous Deejays band. There will also be a public auctioning of Solomon Islands artifacts during the dinner.
